An exclusive House in historical Wool Mill in a lovely Tuscan village.

If you have never visited the Casentino area, located in the heart of Tuscany, and in one of the remaining few wild part of it, you will be pleasantly amazed of this small valley between Arezzo and Florence and behind the Appennino mountains.
Here history, art, spirituality and nature are combined together in a indissoluble particular way.
The nature in Casentino is still uncontaminated, with the National Park Forests that offers wonderful panoramas for the lovers of the nature, and sporting activity as the trekking or the mountain-biking for the most willing people.
Our house, THE WOOL MILL HOUSE OF STIA, is located in the tipical village of Stia, which is the first place of the Casentino Valley crossed by the Arno river after being born from the Falterona Mountain, on its way down to Florence.
The house that dates back to the 1800s, is a part of an historic wool mill that measures 54.000 square meters. Today the Mill has taken on a new life for the community as the Museum of Wool-Making where it keeps the memory of this antique tradition alive along with preserving the building where generations of Stians worked.
THE WOOL MILL HOUSE OF STIA overlooks the ancient village and the beautiful site of Palagio Fiorentino with his wonderful garden. Next to it  you will also find a natural Park named Canto alla Rana, a  proper environment to do pic-nic, walks, sport, where during the summer it is possible to swim in the waters of the Arno too.
To the slopes of the Falterona Mountain, the lovers of archaeology can visit the lake of the Idols, an ancient site of cult where is been recovered over 600 bronze figurines of the IV-III sec. B.C. Today many bronzes are at British Museum.
The history of the valley is very well known because of his many castles and medieval parishes and also because of the great centres of cult as the Monastery of Camaldoli, the Sanctuary of the Verna and the Abbey of Vallombrosa that in the ray of 30 km offer three great monastic orders of the Camaldolesis, of the vallombrosanis and of the Franciscan ones.
From Casentino you can easily reach and visit the cities of Arezzo, Cortona, Florence and Siena.
It's important to know that Stia every two years holds The European Biennial Wrought Iron exhibition  together with World Forging Championship, the next exhibition will take place on  September from  5th to 8th 2013.
